Delivered with North West Cultural Partnership, new music was devised and commissioned by Sid Peacock for Orchestra working with guest musicians Eimear McGeown, Niwel Tsumbu and Darren Milligan. The new works were performed in England, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Irish flautist Eimear McGeown has built a reputation as being one of the world’s most versatile exponents of both classical and Irish flute. She has appeared as a soloist in America, South Korea, Japan, China, Philippines and throughout Europe. She has performed on BBC’s Last Night of the Proms and the World Premiere of Dave Morris’ Concerto in the Library of Congress in Washington DC. https://www.eimearmcgeown.com/ 

From the Democratic Republic of Congo Niwel Tsumbu has settled in Ireland and has quickly become a prominent face on the Irish music scene. He has been hailed as “an exceptional guitar player” by Jazz magazine Allaboutjazzand “enchanted” by the Irish Times.

Darren Milligan from Londonderry was the first piper to study on Newcastle University’s Folk Music Degree. He is an active performer, educator and organiser on the traditional music and band scenes.
